Life on the fruit and veg markets is woven into the Gardiner family. Andy, whose face you’ll know well, follows generations of “barrow boys” from his father and grandfather, to his great grandfather and likely beyond, who were dedicated to providing fresh produce and flowers to their community in Kilburn and later, Golders Green. 

Aged 14, Andy worked every Saturday at Barnet Market since 1977. In 1983, he bought his first pitch at Tally Ho Finchley, then expanded to Barnet Market in 1987 where you’ll find he still runs the stall today with the unwavering support of his wife, three sons and a dedicated team of staff and extended family.

Recognising the evolving needs of his customers, Andy launched Greengrocer’s Choice in 2010, embodying the motto: “Bringing the market to your front door.”

Market-Fresh Delivery: We believe in the immediacy of fresh produce. Order by 7 pm, and Andy personally selects your items, ensuring they arrive at your doorstep the very next day. No warehouses, no lengthy storage—just the freshest produce, straight from the market to you.

Serving Our Community: For 36 years, our stall at Barnet Market has been a cornerstone of the community, a role that became even more vital during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were honoured to serve our neighbours, delivering essential produce to those in need.
